"Mrs. Olabisi's passion for education extends beyond day-to-day learning into the techniques of bolstering STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) education at early ages," explained Kiran Grewal, founder of Learn and Play Montessori Schools. "She is well-positioned as a leader to guide a renaissance in our existing schools, including our new schools opening in Fremont and Dublin."

Mrs. Olabisi has joined LAPMS and will serve as Regional Director for the northern region. She will also be instrumental in developing and driving training and professional development opportunities for both teachers and school leaders. LAPMS is very fortunate to have such a versatile, compassionate, and talented leader on the team.

Olabisi brings a robust experience implementing STEM education in early childhood. In addition to this background, she has mentored teachers and leaders. She recently wrote an article on implementing technology, "The 'T' in STEM education" for NAEYC. Her current doctoral research also aims to add to the scant but important literature on STEM efficacy in early childhood education. She is particularly excited about implementing coding activities to lay a solid foundation for critical skills.

Mrs. Olabisi began her career as a Montessori teacher 25 years ago. In her previous roles as a Preschool Principal and Elementary Director, she was committed to providing a nurturing school environment. She is passionate about instructional coaching, developing partnerships with families, and meeting the individual needs of her students.

Mrs. Olabisi's leadership will be critical to LAPMS existing network of schools in the East Bay. The schools' novel curricula blend age-appropriate activities with a foundation in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). In this way, East Bay children are prepared for a lifetime of learning both in terms of attitudes and in terms of capabilities.
